V12 engine designed for model radio controlled vehicles

Today we've seen something quite small and extremely awesome: a small-scale V12 engine designed for model radio controlled vehicles. This is an entirely functional model and features twin camshafts and overhead valves. It's air-cooled to simplify things by ridding itself of the need for complex water jackets, radiators and the associated plumbing, though the crankshaft is made from multiple pieces. The lilliputian engine displaces just 87-cubic centimeters, but produces between 6 and 8 horsepower running on a mixture of methanol and nitro methane. The best thing of all is the builders say they will be making kits available soon so enterprising craftsmen can power their RC cars, planes and boats with a real V12.

The basic parts of a nitro car engine

A model nitro engine consists of just the fundamental parts of any internal combustion engine.
The cylinder head sits on top of the crankcase and has cooling fins to greatly increase the surface area of the head, to catch more air for cooling. Inside the cylinder head is the combustion chamber which is home to the piston. This is the part that moves up and down very quickly as the fuel and air mixture within the combustion chamber ignites.
The piston is connected to the crankshaft, which is a horizontal shaft running through the crankcase and is connected to the clutch of the car.
Sitting at the front of the engine on top of the crankshaft is the carburetor, which is the part of the engine that introduces the fuel into the crankcase. The fuel / air mixture inside the combustion chamber is ignited by a glow plug, screwed into the top of the cylinder head.

The basic parts visible from the outside are shown in the diagram below:

How a nitro engine operates
RC car nitro engines are 2 stroke whereas most larger internal combustion engines are almost always four stroke - with the exception of things like small lawn mowers or scooter engines. Being 2 stroke means that it really is a very straightforward thing, with not too much that can go wrong.
2 stroke means that the piston just needs to complete one down-stroke and one up-stroke within the combustion chamber to complete the process of drawing the fuel and air in, converting the ignited mixture into raw power and then expelling the exhaust gases. A 4 stroke engine needs two complete revolutions to do the same.
The piston will keep on moving up and down (hopefully!) so long as the fuel/air mixture is being ignited, but how does the whole process start? Well, the fuel/air mixture needs to be introduced into the crankcase at the bottom of the combustion chamber before anything can happen. This is done by 'priming' the engine, which either means holding a finger over the carburetor venturi or exhaust opening while slowly turning over the engine by hand, or just squirting fuel directly into the carburetor from a plastic bottle with a fine nozzle. Either action makes sure that fuel enters the crankcase.
Now that fuel is in the crankcase and has mixed with air, the glow plug needs to heat up and the piston needs to move up and down. So to start, the nitro engine needs to be turned over manually which is either done with the pull cord, if it is a pull start engine, or by an electrical engine starter. At the same time, the plug is made to glow red hot by connecting a glow plug igniter to it for a few seconds; the filament of the plug heats up immediately.
With the fuel/air mixture sitting in the crankcase, it needs to be moved up to the top of the combustion chamber and ignited in order for the engine to start running under its own power. The mixture is forced to the top of the chamber during the piston down-stroke; as the piston moves downwards, so it pressurizes the area of the crankcase where the fuel/air mix is and forces it up small ports, or channels, that run up to the top of the chamber. The mixture is then ignited by the red hot filament of the glow plug. Unless the engine is in poor condition or badly tuned, it should fire up after just a few seconds of being turned over.
When the piston is at the point just before the mixture ignites, it is covering the exhaust ports which run from the sides of the combustion chamber through to the muffler. When the fuel/air mixture does ignite, the resulting explosion forces the piston back down, and on its way down the exhaust ports are uncovered and the burnt gas mixture leaves the chamber via the ports. The momentum of the spinning crankshaft makes the piston move upwards again and the whole process starts over.
Although the glow plug was made to glow red hot initially by a battery, once the engine is running then the high temperature inside the combustion chamber keeps the plug glowing. If the plug fails, then the fuel/air mix will not get ignited and the engine will stop.
A failed glow plug is usually the biggest cause of nitro car engine starting trouble and you should always carry a selection with you. Glow plugs for rc cars and trucks carry different ratings, so check your engine requirements according to the manufacturer recommendations.

Pening lagi....

Aduiiiiiiiiiiii........

Aku tgh pening ni mengenangkan kete aku yg tgh ada kat bangkel utk di baiki..... Kete aku brakedown kat ipoh jln tiger lane berhampiran Kelab Golf Diraja Perak. Masa tu aku baru blk dari kg abah aku di Kg. Senggang Kuala Kangsar Perak.... semasa aku sampai kat tol jelapang aku ada terhidu bau minyak engine...... aku pun parking la kat tepi jalan.... aku cuba periksa engine aku..... memang bau kete aku..... aduh mampos aku.......

Aku berharap dan la sampai kat mah abah aku..... dgn tetibe ada bunyi mcm nak runtuh engine aku..... aku drive je moga sampai kat umah abah aku... tp jangkaan aku meleset, kete aku terus mati engine.

X sampai 5 minit dtgle kete tunda...... aku pun apa lg call la pomen aku si Aziz.... aku bg tau kete aku jamed..... dia bg tau nanti dia anto kete tunda.... jd aku pun bg tau la kat org tu yg aku dah ada kete tunda.

Aku call adik ipar aku minta tlg amik aku 1famili...... membera ku sampai dia terus tunda kete aku bawa blk umah dia... coz dia repair kat umah dia jer.... esoknya member aku call bg tau masalah kete aku.... ma oi....! banyak gak yg kena repair... angaran dlm RM1500.00.....

Kete aku kena repair piston ring , piston, head bengkok, baring rod, blok calar, timing belt ngan water pump alang2 terus tukar baru. Skrg aku pakai kete abah aku dulu, abah aku suruh bawa kete dia, mulanya aku nak blk tg malim naik bas atau keretapi jer. Maklumlah atuk sayang cucu.... abah aku kata "susah jer nak bawa anak nanti baik bawa kete aku" jd aku pun bawa la kete dia... terima kasih abah...... Kete aku mungkin akan siap dlam minggu ini bergantung pada cepatnya aku bg pomen aku diut.... aku harap dapat kete aku siap cepat dlm minggu ni.... inshaallah.........

Minggu ni aku dah 1minggu xkuar umah mlm coz anak aku tu la, dia dah mula masuk sekolah, jd aku kena train dia bgn awal pg utk biasakan dia bgn awal utk mandi, sarapan dan pelbagai lg la yg kena buat.....

Anak aku ni bkn nak tido kalo aku x ada dkt dia..... aku pun xtau la kenapa, coz kalo nak ikut kan aku ngan dia bkn la manjakan sangat, aku kerap jugak merotan kalo dia buat benda yg seriusla, marah tu biasala, pukul ngan tangan kat kaki dia kalo dia suka sepak2 org. tapi walau mcm maner pu dia tetap nak duk dkt aku jer kurang dgn ibu dia.....

Dia kalo boleh kemaner aku p dia mesti nak ikut walaupun dlm kawasan rumah sekalipun..... kekadang tu aku tgh mandi pun dia kan ketuk pintu bilik air bertanya "ayah! dah siap ke?" bila dia rasa aku lama dlm bilik air lg la kerap dia bertanya, memang susah nak berlekang. Kekadang tu aku pun naik rungsing, tp aper nak buat aku faham coz dia sorang je.... x ada adik dan kawan2 kat kawasan perumahan ni yg sebaya dia..... Aku bkn x nak tambah anak lg tp blm ada rezeki lagi inshaallah ada rezeki adala didin dapat adik.......

Citer pasal anak, semalam aku dapat terima panggilan dari adik aku bahawa isteri dia mengandung 4bln dan anak kembar plak tu......... wow........ thn ni aku bakal mendapat anak sedara baru seramai 4org dari 3 adik aku. Alhamdulillah syukur kepada hadrat ilahi..... mudah mudahan segalanya berjalan dgn lancar dan diberkati oleh ALLAH swt....serta mendapat anak2 yg soleh dan soleha.... amin.....

Mandi Hujan..

Tu la anak aku..... kalo pasal mandi hujan aku x marah kalo dia nak mandi hujan..... dulu pun aku mandi hujan gak tp x mcm sekarang ni... Dulu aku pusing kg ngan kekawan aku pi jalan2...... masa tu mak bapak aku pun x melarang aku main hujan...... sampai satu masa aku main bola pun dlm hujan dan keadaan pdg yg becak ngan lumpur dan air bertakung...... Pengalaman tu memang x dapat aku lupakan........ Kini anak aku telah memberi aku imbasan memori lama aku...... aku rasa ingin kembali menjadi kanak2 yg x perlu pikirkan masalah kerja , kewangan, keluarga, makan ,pakai dan benda2 yg aku kena pikirkan sekarang......Jd aku x kisah anak aku nak main hujan berapa lama kerana aku x nak anak aku mcm anak org sekarang takut demam..... Kalo kita x ajar anak kita lasak memang la anak kita mudah mendapat sakit...... Tak hairan la tiap kali hujan lebat turun didin akan meminta utk mandi hujan..... jd aku benarkan sahaja........
Aku rasa zaman kanak2 kita semua sama kan? kalo x percaya cuba ingat kembali.........(utk lelaki la) Mandi sungai, beranyut guna tiub tayar tractor, curi buah pelam org, lastik burung,main perang2, main buluh bedul, main senapang kayu dan pelbagai benda la yg boleh di buat bg budak kg mcm aku dan kekawan aku dulu..... Mungkin anda pun sama kan?

Selamat Tahun baru semua......
Cerita pasal thn baru aku dah xrasa nak sambut thn baru ni coz pada aku x ada apa yg seronok sangat utk sambut thn baru ni........ tiap2 thn benda yg sama jer.. asyik2 konsert, bergaduh, memberontak, merempit dan pelbagai benda yg x baik berlaku semperna sambutan thn baru....
Mcm maner nak ubah jdkan thn baru sesuatu yg mandatangkan ketenagan, kebaikan. rezeki yg murah, keamanan negara, kehidupan bermoral dan apa2 yg berkaitan dgn kebaikan la. Aku dah bosan dgr cite pasal thn baru. Pada mlm sambutan thn baru lah segala bapak maksiat akan berlaku di seluruh negara.... Cubalah kita renungkan, benda ni bkn baru je berlaku, kita kata kita merdeka, dah nak masuk ke 53 thn dah, tp tiap2 hari dan thn benda yg sama berlaku, bunuh membunuh, buang anak, rogol, ragut dan pelbagai lg lah. Apa yg pasti merdeka cuma tanahair kita jer tp kita masih blm Merdeka.......
Kita sambut thn baru dgn adakan solat hajat d seluruh negara utk hindarkan dari segala malapetaka yg akan diturunkan oleh ALLAH kepada umat muhammad yg x pernah bersyukur kepadanya. inshaallah
